Curriculum Map Printing
When printing a map, you can now choose to display four or five columns per page.
This is useful for printing on large 11 x 17 inch sheets of paper.

Curriculum Mapping Enhancements
Curriculum Maps may now be searched using any of the following criteria:
- Learning Standards: Standard Areas, Standards, Key Ideas, Performance Indicators, and Grade Levels
- School or District
- School Year or other time frame
- Course
- Keyword
Curriculum Maps may now be combined using any of the above criteria.
Combined maps now display the learning standard alignments in either concise or full text format.
Combined maps can now be saved in Adobe Acrobat PDF format.
School districts may now implement an approval process for curriculum maps. This approval
process can be put in place by having a school district administrator make a formal request
for this functionality by sending an e-mail to the SchoolTools support staff requesting this feature.
Once this feature has been activated, then a shared map may only be copied by another
educator when that map has been approved by a district administator.
School districts that do not want to align their curriculum maps to the state learning standards
can now disable that functionality by contacting the SchoolTools support staff.
Curriculum Maps may now be aligned to the Alternate Level (Vesid) Learning Standards of New York State.
Curriculum Maps may now be aligned to the Career Major Learning Standards of New York State.

Curriculum Mapping Enhancements (Educators)
The "Copy Map" feature lets you make a copy of any map you
can view - you can then edit your copy of the map.
Each month in a curriculum map can now be aligned to State Learning Standards
by making choices from a list of:
Grade Levels -> Standard Areas -> Key Ideas -> Performance Indicators.
Curriculum Map Reports
- New report layouts are now available.
- All reports can now be saved as a PDF file - this will allow users
to save a copy of any map in PDF Format on their hard drive and
to print the PDF copy.
- All reports can now be saved as a Microsoft Word file.
- Each user's reporting preferences are saved so that when printing
reports, the report layout, format, and other settings will
default to that user's preferences.
- Combined maps can now be printed.
- Improved mapping header layout for cleaner printing.
- Improved Print Views - We have corrected the printing problems for the
grid/table view of map (in the past, depending on their print
settings and browser version, users sometimes did not get all pages
of their map printed when they were printing in the table format).
Curriculum Mapping Enhancements (Administrators)
School and District Administrators will have the option to
"Create a Map" (in the past, they had to use a separate educator
account).
District Administrators will be able to view all maps in their
district whether they are shared or not (in the past, they could
only view shared maps). School Administrators will be able to
view all maps in their school.
District Administrators can now approve curriculum maps within
their district. Approved maps will display the "District Seal
of Approval" which is a graphic image that can be customized
for each district.

Web Site Builder: Version 2.3 (March 30, 2004)
WebQuest Builder
A new WebQuest Builder has been released. The new WebQuest Builder helps facilitate
the development of WebQuests using Web Site Builder Technology. A simplified WebQuest Builder
helps users create a WebQuest with Introduction, Assessment, Task, Process, Resources, Conclusion,
and Credit sections built right in. Text in the template helps guide users in the development
of high quality WebQuest activities for their students.
Book Studies Builder
A Book Studies Builder is now live on the SchoolTools.us site. The Book Studies Builder
assists teachers in the development of online communities and discussion boards to guide thoughtful
discussion of books or other literary materials. The Builder helps teachers by pre-formatting
sections for them and providing a structure that helps them focus on the construction of Book Studies
than on construction of a web site.
Custom Templates Available for Grand Island
Templates for Charlette Sidway Elementary School and Huth Road Elementary School are now available.

Curriculum Maps is compatible with MAC OS 9 and OS X as well as Netscape 7.1 on PC.

Clicking on "Print this Page" will only attempt to find a printer when it is run from a web server.
This means that we will avoid searching for a printer when viewing a "Printable" page that was received as an E-Mailed file attachment.

MAC Compatibility

Known Issues for MAC
Partial Clean button does not work. It only works on PC
Spacing: to make single space, press Shift + Enter on PC, press Enter on Mac. It is a limitation of the browsers
Cut, Copy, and Paste buttons do not work. Users can use keyboard shortcuts
(Cut: command+X, Copy: command+C, Paste: command+V)
Cut, Copy, and paste tables from Word does not work
Undo button does not work after the user uses Clean Formatting of the Whole
Document
Insert Document, Insert Image, and Insert Icons: the window will not automatically
close after inserting. The user can click the Close Window button to
close it. The window will automatically close on PC.
Enhanced System Maintenance
Improved handling of users and groups from outside New York state.
Improved methods for preventing the addition of duplicate users.

Curriculum Mapping
When creating a new map, the mapping time drop down now defaults to the current school year. For example, if a user creates a map before July 1, 2004, it will default to 2003-2004 school year,
but if a map is created between July 1, 2004 and June 30, 2005, it will default to 2004-2005 school year. The user also has the option to choose the year as early as 1990.

Forget Your Password
The process for requesting your password has been streamlined.
List User Information
More search criteria are now available.

the list of multiple memberships for Users who are not associated with a school.

Event Planner: This tool provides users in Performing Arts
Coser (CA BOCES Coser 403) an ability to add Distance Learning and
Performing Arts events. The users can make a request to attend an event
and find out the "matching district(s)" for the event. *Users
that are not in the Coser can only browse through the events in the
catalog.
