		What is SchoolTools.us?
		SchoolTools.us is a Web-based educational system that allows educators, students, parents, policy makers and other educational stake holders to analyze educational information, gather resources and work collaboratively to improve instruction and student achievement. SchoolTools provides teachers with a set of professional development tools directly linked to their students' needs. SchoolTools also provides educational stake holders with a powerful new Internet toolset to evaluate programs and policies and to see firsthand the curriculum, instruction, and assessment techniques that teachers use to improve student learning.

		SchoolTools.us houses tools, resources and services to enable improved teaching and learning in support of education reform. These Web-based components have been developed, and will continue to be developed in stages.

		SchoolTools.us enables our teachers to:
		• Create and share standards aligned learning experiences and assessments • Find the gaps in their curriculum - and access the resources to close those gaps • Develop classroom, school and district "curriculum maps" to ensure quality K-12 education • Communicate and instructional plans with administrators, support staff and substitute teachers • Collaborate with other educators in our region and throughout the world • Take charge of their own professional growth and professional development planning • Identify specific strategies for academic intervention services



		Cattaraugus-Allegany BOCES is a state leader in Professional Development. The Instructional Support Services and Information Technology Divisions support over 25,000 professional educators with the knowledge, skills and support necessary for 21st Century Classrooms! The Curriculum Development Learning Management project began in 1997 as our Superintendents realized that current teaching practices and textbooks alone weren’t going to get all students to reach the Standards and we needed to utilize available technology to ensure that all of our students succeed. They have been instrumental in the development of SchoolTools.us!
